Insured patients must confirm with your health fund that you are covered.
Your procedure will be billed directly to the health fund and Medicare for the surgeon and surgical assistant fee. Insured patients typically have most of their surgical costs covered, but it’s always best to check with your health fund.

Follow-up consultations at 4 weeks, 6 and 12 months minimum and as required.
After that yearly appointments* to make sure you are on track.
*You must have a current GP referral for all follow up appointments to be bulk billed.
Paid one week prior to procedure.
DIETITIAN: Post-surgery consultations at 2 weeks, 4 weeks, 3, 6 and 12 months.
FRESH START PROGRAM: Helping you sustain a healthy lifestyle with a comprehensive 2-year support, education and coaching program.
ANAESTHETIST: $1,300
PAID directly by you to the anaesthetist prior to surgery. The rebate is approx. $350.
Not Including:
HEALTH FUND: Your health fund will contribute the majority of fees for your surgery. This includes the theatre and bed costs, which are usually $11,950. You will NOT be billed this fee – the hospital will directly charge your health fund. Your health fund and Medicare will also contribute a fee to Dr Martin. This will be billed to them directly.
HOSPITAL EXCESS: Please contact your health fund to find out what your excess or co-payment is. Each individual policy differs. This fee is between yourself and your health fund and depends on your policy/cover.
INCIDENTALS: ECG prior to surgery $70. Occasionally additional blood tests are required. There will also be a fee upon discharge from the hospital for any medications dispensed.
